Third-Party Disclosure

The bythebible.com website, produced and sponsored by the Philadelphia Church of God (PCG), uses the third-party services described below for analytics, promotion, and content delivery. This disclosure supplements our Privacy Policy.

Analytic Services

The PCG uses the Google Analytics service from Google LLC (“Google”) for analytic purposes. This service uses cookies that transfer and store data with those respective companies. Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate our service and compile reports for By the Bible. This data is not personally identifiable, but does include general geographic location and other information provided by a person such as interests, activities, age, gender, education and occupation.

Pseudonymous user profiles can be created from processed data of Google Analytics. You can prevent the collection of data generated by Google’s cookies by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available here: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Promotional Services

The PCG uses cookies, pixel tags and similar technology for promotional and marketing purposes.

Meta (Facebook)

The PCG uses Facebook’s “pixel tag” to deliver Facebook ads to website visitors or to similar Facebook users. The data we collect in this way is anonymous to us; we do not see personal data of individual users. However, this data is stored and processed by Facebook and Facebook may use it for its own promotional purposes outlined here: facebook.com/about/privacy. You can object to the collection of your data by the Facebook pixel, or object to the use of your data for the purpose of displaying Facebook ads, by visiting: facebook.com/ads/preferences.

Google Marketing Services

The PCG uses the marketing and remarketing services of Google LLC (“Google”). These services allow us to advertise in a more targeted manner to website visitors and those whose information is similar to website visitors on other websites within the Google network. For these purposes, a code is used by Google when our website is accessed and what are referred to as (re)marketing tags are incorporated into the website. This service uses a cookie or comparable technology. Cookies can be set by various domains, including google.com, doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com or googleadservices.com. This file records which content users are interested in and which offers have been used. In addition, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites or applications, and the length of the visit is stored.

All user data will only be processed as pseudonymous data. Google does not store any names or e-mail addresses. All displayed ads are therefore not displayed specifically for a person, but for the owner of the cookie.

One of the Google marketing services we use is the online advertising program Google Ads. Each Google Ads customer receives a different conversion cookie, so cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of Google Ads customers. The information collected by the cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for advertisers who have opted for conversion tracking; advertisers see the total number of users who clicked on an ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion-tracking tag, but do not receive information that personally identifies users.

We may include third-party advertisements based on the Google Marketing Platform (DoubleClick), which uses cookies to enable Google and its partner websites to place ads based on users’ visits to this website or other websites on the Internet. Google services also make use of Google Tag Manager. For more information about Google’s use of data for marketing purposes, see: google.com/policies/technologies/ads. Google’s privacy policy is available at google.com/policies/privacy.

If you wish to object to interest-based advertising by Google marketing services, you can do so using the settings and opt-out options provided by Google at google.com/ads/preferences.

Microsoft Bing Ads

The PCG uses the marketing and remarketing service of Bing Ads from Microsoft Corporation (“Microsoft”) as part of our website. Microsoft stores a cookie on the user’s computer to enable an analysis of the use of our online services and to deliver targeted ads. You can find further information on data protection and the cookies used at Microsoft Bing Ads in Microsoft’s privacy statement: privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. If you do not wish to participate in the Bing Ads tracking process, you can communicate your objection to Microsoft here: account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings.

X (Twitter)

The PCG embeds posts (formerly “Tweets”) from X and may also use the X Pixel (X’s advertising and conversion-tracking technology). When you view or interact with embedded posts, or when the X Pixel is active on our site, X may collect certain information about your device and activity. This can include the page you visited, your IP address, browser type, operating system, cookie identifiers, and information about how you interact with the embedded content or our site. X may use this information to improve its products and services, measure advertising performance, attribute conversions, and (where permitted) help deliver interest-based or tailored ads. To learn more about the information X collects and how it uses cookies and similar technologies, visit help.x.com/en/rules-and-policies/x-cookies. X’s privacy policy is available at privacy.x.com.

You can control or restrict the information X collects, including opting out of interest-based advertising, here: help.x.com/en/safety-and-security/privacy-controls-for-tailored-ads. Other privacy controls are described on X’s own sites.

X participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF and the Swiss-U.S. DPF) and certifies that it complies with the applicable DPF Principles. You can verify its certification status on the official Data Privacy Framework list: dataprivacyframework.gov/list.
